Weekly Meeting Details:
CORE is our Wednesday night worship gathering from 6:30-8:00 pm at the church building for students in 6th-12th grade. We have dynamic worship, student-relevant Bible teaching, and grade-specific small groups led by adults every week.
Student Ministry Values:
- Gospel forming: head, heart, and hands
Student Ministries are often moralistic with their message essentially being some version of, “Be a good kid, not a bad kid.” Not us. Our goal is to form the heads, hearts, and hands of our students with the gospel, avoiding the ditches on either side of it – religion and irreligion.
- Raising “Arrow Students”
Bridge student ministries will seek to disciple “arrow students.” We’re not creating a ministry that protects them from the world; we’re creating a ministry that makes them into offensive weapons the world will want to protect itself from. Bridge Student Ministries will seek to prepare our sons and daughters to go into the world, equipped and confident to attack it with the truth and beauty of the gospel.
- Aggressively Missional
Most students are not saved. And most people who are saved, God saves during their student ministry years. Knowing that “the field is white for the harvest”, Bridge Student Ministries will be aggressively evangelistic, calling students to respond to the gospel message in faith for salvation. Our target is a great ingathering of students who respond in faith and repentance to the gospel message.
The Bible’s theology of the family doesn’t include church age-graded ministries as a child’s primary spiritual influence. The family is. Biblically, parents are a student’s primary Youth Pastor and Kids Minister. With this theology of the family in mind, Bridge Student Ministries will seek a partnership relationship with parents to help them, equip and resource them, and be an encouragement to them rather than seeking to lone-wolf it in shaping our students.
Every year our Student Ministry has an annual Middle School and High School retreat that focuses on developing spiritual depth and community. We also go to Summer Camp every year for students going into 7th grade-those who just graduated!
We send out a weekly Parent Update of everything that is going on in our ministry. Email Pastor Eric if you would like to be added to this email!
